These cookies are probably the most popular cookies we make. People will ask us about them, and all the ladies in my family are obsessed. They have this combination of flaky, browned butter cookie with the tiniest bit of cherry/strawberry jam that is so, so good. It’s also really fun to brown butter, so if you’ve never done that before, don’t be afraid!
Our recipe is a torn sheet out of Gourmet, and the article accompanying it, by Celia Barbour, talks of her struggle to put these together. I’m just going to come out and say it, she is kiind of a drama queen. They are definitely a little time intensive, but they are not nearly as hard as she makes it out to be.
