I keep thinking of things to write about, and then the moment I sit down to actually write something, my mind goes blank. This can probably be attributed to the fact that I feel pulled in a million different directions, which is stupid, because it’s mostly in anticipation of all the holiday related stuff I’m going to be doing.
Anyway, I’ve mostly been doing things that are boring to write about, like addressing a million bazillion envelopes, and halfheartedly suggesting that we clean every night when David gets home.
I also got most of my holiday shopping done in one afternoon. That’s right, I am the best, thank you so much. I don’t have a huge list, but I do have a tiny budget, so one day, in a Pinterest fueled DIY frenzy, I decided that I’m going to make almost all of my gifts. I’m pretty excited about the prospect, because I think I chose projects that are complicated enough to actually look nice when they’re finished, but not so complicated that I will be in tears the night before my presents are ‘due’ because it’s 3 in the morning and I should be sleeping on my vacation, dammit. That’s what normally happens to me. I can’t talk about it any more than that, because I’m pretty sure the recipients make up the readership of this blog, but I’m excited.
Right now is really my favorite time of the holiday season. I love the moment when you’re poised on the verge of an awesome time, but all you have to do is look forward, and get ready. I get just as much joy out of anticipation as I do out of the actual event.
What’s your favorite part? Are you like me, or do you enjoy things as they come, and not so much the looking forward/planning part?
