A Guide To Pumpkin Beer

Probably one of the worst parts of doing the Whole30 challenge was not being able to drink any beer. I don’t drink tons of beer, but I’m pretty into pumpkin seasonals, which was just kicking off as we were starting the challenge. So the day it ended David and I went to Total Wine and got all of the individual fall seasonal beers we could find. Of course I’m a huge nerd, and thought it would be fun to make a chart comparing all the different kinds – but David’s a nerd too and got pretty into it!

I feel like this should have a different title.

“A Guide to Pumpkin Beer By a Novice for Novices”

If someone was SERIOUSLY considering branching into trying different pumpkin ales, you would be doing them a great disservice when it comes to the totality of the experience. No nose notes, no visual notes about the head retention, clarity. Nothing about the different spices tasted, nothing.

If you’d like to try something fun, and educational, give this a read and try a small tasting yourself with some friends. You’ll have fun, and learn a lot about beer.

You got me! I am not very knowledgeable about beer and I made this mostly for fun, not as a definitive guide. Thank you for clarifying that, and for the educational links.

I just re-read my comment, and I came off as a huge jerk. I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to be so aggressive.

I really love your graphic though, I should have added that. I’ve been looking at using something playful and fun like that. How did you make it?

Thanks, I appreciate that. :) I took pictures of the beer bottles on a white background, and then drew the type by hand, and put it all together in Illustrator.
