I can’t believe that I’ve been doing this for almost half a year! In fact, scratch that, I can’t believe it’s already December. It feels like I just started yesterday – but also like I’ve been doing this for years. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want this month. The adjustment period is over, and I feel like the new year is the perfect time to get serious about mapping out concrete, achievable goals. I knew that December would be a slow month – and I’ve been right so far – but I’m using it as an opportunity to prepare for what is hopefully going to be a full and productive year, work wise.
My Goals for Month 5
+ Be more aggressive about scheduling my time.
+ PLAN BETTER! Not yet!
+ Finish the things I’ve been working on forever, and move on to step two. This is a sort-of accomplished goal. I have finished up some things that I’ve been working on for a while (like my website and this blog) but I still need to get in touch with some of my clients.
My Goals for Month 6
+ Come up with a yearlong plan for reaching some of my career goals. I know all the things I should be doing, but I think that organizing them into one master plan, with each step leading into the next will be incredibly helpful.
+ Figure out my taxes. For real this time. I even talked to an accountant, so I can do this!
+ Take some time, and enjoy the holidays. I’ve been feeling work slowly creeping into all aspects of my life – and I think that I’m getting a little burnt out. I’m going to enjoy my freedom of schedule, rest up, and be restored for 2012.
