This weekend, I was invited to the press preview of the opening of Kindred Boutique in Raleigh. My friend Amber just started working there, and since she’d been telling me about how awesome the space was, I was excited to check it out.
When I walked in, the first thing that struck me was how cool the space was. It’s open and inviting – and the stuff they’re selling is awesome. There was so much stuff that I want to come back for later, but I especially loved the table in the shape of North Carolina, and Dapper Paper’s shelves.
The photo is blurry, but look at this table. Picture how great it would look in my family room.
Kindred’s mission is, in their own words ‘to incubate emerging artisans via mentoring & a boutique.’ They offer a variety of products made by local artists. There are a variety of ways to sell your products in their shop, and in addition they are going to offer workshops, and mentor artisans to help them grow their businesses. It’s so great that they are creating a community for young creative businesses, especially in Raleigh where it sometimes feels pretty isolating if you’re just starting out. I’m excited to shop there, and see how they grow.
