I feel bad. I have all these sewing projects that I want to share with you guys, but I haven’t gotten around to taking pictures of them. And the reason is… I don’t feel like I’ve made anything that great yet. Sure, they actually resemble clothes, and technically they’re alright, but everything I put on is just not quite there. I was going to power through anyway and just make sure the photos didn’t show any of the imperfections, but that doesn’t feel very honest. And I don’t think it’s very realistic to expect to be turning out real-life-ready pieces the minute I turn on a sewing machine, so instead I’m going to just say that yeah, I have been sewing a lot, but nothing I’ve made on my own is quite ready to share, yet. Luckily I’m using cheapie fabric so it’s not too much of a loss, and hopefully when I revisit the stuff I’ll be able to see how I could have made it better, but for now, it’s just going slow.
Sorry that this is kind of a bummer of a post, but I guess I just have to accept the fact that I’m not a project machine. I get so impatient during the ‘skills building’ part of learning something, but if I keep at it, something will have to turn out the way I envision sooner or later.
In better news, the weather has finally turned here, and it’s been crisp and beautiful outside. So I have some fun fall posts planned… you know, now that it’s actually fall!
